Job Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests
  • Basic math skills necessary for cash register and making change
  • Physical dexterity to handle garnishing and mixing tasks
  • Ability to operate point of sale procedures
  • Ability to work standing and in confined spaces for extended periods
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others
  • Adherence to attendance rules and availability for regular work

Job Qualifications

  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate well with guests
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and alcoholic beverage service
  • Basic mathematical skills for cash register operations and change making
  • Manual dexterity to prepare garnishes, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice and mix drinks
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
  • Ability to operate keyboard and point of sale systems
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with associates and guests
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Maintain proper and adequate bar setup daily including requisitioning and stocking of beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily projections
  • Maintain stock, cut, and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure product quality
  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document drink orders, mix, garnish and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control
  • Abide by all state, federal and corporate regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Input orders into register at point of sale and create checks to maintain beverage accountability
  • Receive cash from guests, make change, verify charges, record transactions and execute vouchers properly to balance money
  • Lock and store all beverage, food and equipment items, deposit cash drops and secure bank
  • Comply with attendance rules and be regularly available to work
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
