Job Requirements

  • One to three years experience as a bartender required, high-volume environment preferred
  • good written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts
  • ability to complete heavy workloads and multi-task in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • good judgment and decision-making abilities
  • ability to free-pour to recipe specs and extensive knowledge of mixed cocktails and frozen drink mixing
  • must be at least the minimum age required to serve alcohol as determined by applicable state law
  • high school degree or GED preferred
  • health permit, food safety and alcohol awareness certification required prior to first day of employment
  • must be able to work in a fast-paced, high energy, and physically demanding environment
  • must be able to spend 100 percent of working time standing, walking, and reaching
  • capable of pushing, pulling, and lifting objects from lower to higher positions and moving objects horizontally
  • able to grasp objects of different sizes and shapes
  • maintain body equilibrium to prevent falls on various surfaces
  • able to climb ladders, stairs, and ramps
  • carry loads greater than 35 pounds and exert force up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 30 pounds frequently
  • able to communicate clearly in English
  • hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction
  • possess specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment
  • exposed to weather conditions and temperature changes
  • subject to moderate to high noise levels
  • work in narrow aisles or passageways
  • aware of hazards like cuts, burns, slips, and trips
  • frequently required to wash hands and/or wear gloves
  • ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests and staff
  • verifies all guests purchasing alcohol are at least 21 years of age
  • follows established recipes and procedures in beverage preparation
  • possesses full knowledge of food and beverage products served and utilizes suggestive selling techniques
  • takes orders and delivers food and beverage in a timely manner
  • operates point-of-sale system efficiently and handles large amounts of currency
  • practices proper cash handling procedures
  • maintains cleanliness of bar, glassware, utensils, counters, and ashtrays
  • cleans up spilled drinks and debris promptly
  • tracks items spilled or wasted
  • conducts final quality check on food and beverages served
  • assists with stocking bars initially and ongoing restocking
  • conducts inventory of liquor and bar supplies
  • ensures immediate and friendly service to guests
  • answers questions, handles complaints or directs them to management
  • completes opening, running, and closing duties
  • follows ordering procedures to maintain par levels
  • ensures alcohol consumption only in designated areas
  • assists management in training new staff members
  • maintains knowledge of company products and communicates with guests
  • notifies management of low inventory and recommends new items
  • performs other assigned duties with urgency
  • adheres to responsible alcohol service policies
  • follows all safety and sanitation practices
  • complies with company policies and procedures as outlined in staff handbook
