Job Requirements

  • ability to stand and/or walk throughout entire shift and work in a restaurant environment

Job Qualifications

  • 6 mos. to 2 years related experience preferred
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • alcohol certification required
  • food handler's certificate as required
  • ability to see, hear, read, and write in English
  • basic math and verbal communication skills required
  • ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal direction
  • must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests, other employees, and managers
  • possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
  • ability to manage own workflow and resolve questions and problems with supervisor

Job Duties

  • know and follow posted schedule and strict adherence to posted clock in/out times
  • adhere to company uniform and grooming policies
  • provide timely and courteous service to guests in assigned station and other tables
  • maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, wines, beers, and cocktails
  • adhere to company, state, and county sanitation standards
  • maintain a clean and organized workstation
  • maintain friendly, helpful, positive attitude
  • follow company operating policies and steps of service
  • welcome and greet guests following established service guidelines
  • assist fellow team members in meeting guest needs
  • answer questions and make recommendations about food, beverages, features, and other restaurant functions
  • understand correct process for serving guests with allergens
  • take food and beverage orders, repeating order for guest confirmation and correctly entering order in point-of-sale system
  • follow alcohol awareness procedures to prevent guest intoxication and notify manager on duty when necessary
  • deliver food and beverages to guests
  • assist other bartenders and servers providing cooperative service
  • monitor and observe guests' dining experience ensuring satisfaction and promptly responding to requests
  • prepare final bill, present check, accept payment including coupons and gift cards, process credit card charges or make change
  • thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
  • participate in clearing and resetting dining room tables
  • assist other servers, back of house team, and counter/bartenders as needed
  • perform all side work and cleaning duties outlined in the restaurant
  • attend all company meetings and training seminars as required
  • keep immediate supervisor informed of all guest service issues and take corrective action
  • treat all guests, team members, and managers with respect and courtesy
  • maintain a friendly and cooperative attitude while at work
  • portray a favorable image of Willie's Grill and Icehouse at all times
  • perform related tasks as assigned by restaurant management
