Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • no felony, theft or stealing convictions
  • must be able to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen
  • must pass background investigation
  • obtain and maintain a gaming license
  • high energy and motivated personality
  • knowledge of bar items, liquors, and pricing
  • knowledge of cash handling
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • willing to work evenings, graveyards, holidays, and/or weekends
  • flexible to work extended hours and irregular shifts
  • able to work in all venues as assigned by Food & Beverage Management

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • recent experience as a high volume bartender in a recognized establishment or completion of 1 year in the TOGE Bar Back position
  • knowledge of Title 4 (Arizona liquor law) regarding alcohol service
  • ability to obtain a Food Handlers card
  • ability to obtain TIPS certification
  • proficiency in operating POS systems
  • strong knowledge of bartending in a high volume bar/nightclub environment
  • ability to provide professional guest service
  • ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English
  • skill in interpersonal and guest service
  • ability to follow instructions and work in a busy, stressful environment

Job Duties

  • Mixes and serves alcoholic drinks to lounge/bar guests
  • collects money for drinks served and makes change for guests
  • adheres to all Title 4 (Arizona liquor law) and TOGE internal controls
  • cleans and sterilizes glasses and bar equipment on a continual basis
  • replaces empty beer kegs and replenishes wine units accordingly when bar backs are not available
  • ensures all tribal, city, state and federal health/food safety codes are upheld
  • maintains a clean, organized and sanitized work area while following all health and safety regulations
  • ensures the safe and clean environment of the lounge/bar area
  • checks and audits till receipts for the shift and dispenses receipts to proper authorities
  • trains new team members and bar backs
  • contributes to team efforts and accomplishes related results
  • coordinates and maintains entertainment with Food & Beverage Supervisor
  • possesses vast knowledge of spirits, wine, champagne, and cocktails
  • is knowledgeable of drink prices and proper measurement
  • serves alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages while ensuring legal drinking age compliance
  • computes bills and accepts payments
  • provides excellent guest service by responding promptly and courteously
  • keeps bar top, service tables, and floors clean
  • operates the POS cash register
  • stocks service station
  • follows standard service techniques consistently
  • monitors guests for intoxication and takes appropriate procedures
  • informs guests about food and beverage outlets and casino promotions
  • maintains good communication with team members and a professional work environment
  • maintains proper attendance in accordance with casino policy
  • works closely with other departments to ensure seamless guest service
  • demonstrates Desert Diamond Casino 'On Brand' attitude
  • supports and reinforces casino Spirit of Service Standards
  • flexible and assumes other duties as assigned by management
  • performs other duties as required
