Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent or relevant experience
  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Able to communicate effectively with guests and employees
  • Must attend all required trainings and meetings
  • Maintain regular attendance per hotel scheduling needs
  • Maintain proper appearance, uniform, and nametag
  • Comply with hotel standards for safety and efficient operations
  • Be proactive in identifying and solving problems
  • Ability to handle problems anticipating and preventing issues
  • Must maintain confidentiality
  • Willingness to cross-train and perform other duties as assigned
  • Flexible in work hours and shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in hotel or related hospitality field preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns
  • Ability to work flexible and sometimes long hours
  • Understanding and applying complex information
  • Able to cross-train in other hotel areas
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Show initiative in anticipating guest and operational needs

Job Duties

  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and employees
  • Set up the bar according to hotel standards and ensure guests are served promptly and efficiently
  • Prepare beverages and cocktails following the hotel’s mixing and presentation standards
  • Serve guests courteously and professionally with all beverage requirements
  • Break down bar after functions, storing liquor, supplies, and equipment according to hotel standards
  • Follow all state liquor laws
  • Know hotel services and facilities
  • Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules
  • Serve liquor responsibly to avoid issues with intoxicated guests
  • Respond to guests’ problems, complaints, and accidents
  • Be familiar with fire exit and extinguisher locations and operation
  • Maintain cleanliness of bar and service areas during operations
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
