Job Requirements

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • Knowledge of liquor regulations
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic English language skills
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Ability to follow safety and security procedures
  • Maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as per company standards

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages
  • Basic mathematical skills for operating cash register, making change, calculating totals and portion sizes
  • Basic English writing skills for requisitions and vouchers
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to prepare garnishes and handle barware
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English
  • Ability to apply written product labeling instructions
  • Ability to remember and promote menu items
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers
  • Ability to transport up to 30 lbs continuously
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks
  • Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking of supplies
  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and perishables
  • Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records transactions, and balances monies
  • Locks up and stores all beverages, food and equipment, deposits cash drops and secures bank
  • Answers bar phone promptly and takes room service orders accurately
  • Performs general cleaning tasks using hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures
  • Follows safety and security procedures and rules
  • Knows department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • Utilizes protective equipment and reports unsafe conditions or accidents
  • Maintains a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • Performs any related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
  • Assists other beverage personnel when needed
