Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience in bartending preferred
  • previous experience with Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi and sake preferred
  • basic understanding of wine, spirits and sake preferred
  • must be certified in Responsible Alcohol Service by applicable agency
  • must be 21 years of age or older based on state law
  • high school diploma or GED preferred

Job Duties

  • Promptly greet guests
  • take beverage orders from restaurant servers or directly from guests
  • prepare beverage orders according to server tickets
  • mix alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, cocktails and other beverages as requested
  • check identification of guests to verify age requirements for alcohol purchase
  • notify management of underage or intoxicated guests
  • ring up drink and food orders in POS system
  • collect payment and follow cash handling procedures
  • ensure bar area is stocked with tools and products
  • report defective products or equipment
  • offer and serve food items to bar guests
  • demonstrate thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions
  • perform routine cleaning, setup and breakdown of bar
  • wash and sterilize glassware and maintain attractive display
  • complete daily and weekly cleaning and side work
  • participate in scheduled catering events
  • perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
