Job Requirements

  • Ability to transport up to 30 lbs through a crowded room continuously during shift
  • Maximum lifting capacity of 30 pounds
  • Constant standing and walking required
  • Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling
  • Knowledge of all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
  • Availability to work AM and PM shifts with flexibility
  • Willingness to work all holidays
  • Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as per company standards

Job Qualifications

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • Have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
  • Possess basic mathematical skills to operate cash register, make change, total guest checks and prepare cash drops
  • Have basic English writing skills for completion of requisitions and vouchers
  • Have sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnish preparation, handle glassware, scoop ice, mix drinks and retrieve stock
  • Possess basic English language skills to understand customer inquiries and communicate simple instructions
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner and promote and document orders for drinks
  • Mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments and produce
  • Maintain stock, cut and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality
  • Receive cash from guests, make change, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed to balance all moneys
  • Lock up and store all beverages, food and equipment, deposit cash drops and secure bank
  • Answer bar phone within three rings, take room service orders accurately and courteously and input orders into point of sale register
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures including safety and security regulations
  • Know and follow department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • Utilize protective equipment and report unsafe conditions or accidents to supervisor
  • Maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as outlined in team member handbook
  • Perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
  • Assist other beverage personnel when needed
