Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in beverage service or hospitality preferred
  • basic mathematical and English skills
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • good manual dexterity
  • valid Food Handler Card
  • knowledge of local liquor laws
  • ability to follow safety procedures
  • good interpersonal skills
  • neat and clean appearance
  • ability to handle cash and use POS systems

Job Qualifications

  • hold a current Food Handler Card
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
  • basic mathematical skills to operate cash register and manage financial transactions
  • basic English writing skills for requisitions and vouchers
  • sufficient manual dexterity for cutting garnishes and handling glassware
  • basic English language proficiency for customer communication
  • ability to comprehend and apply product labeling instructions
  • ability to remember and promote menu items
  • ability to operate beverage equipment
  • ability to transport up to 30 pounds safely
  • knowledge of state, federal and corporate liquor laws

Job Duties

  • Serve beverages and food to guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner
  • greet guests courteously and promote drink orders
  • mix, garnish and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control
  • maintain daily bar setup including requisition and stocking of supplies
  • maintain stock, cut and store fresh fruit, vegetable garnishes, juices and perishables
  • handle cash transactions, verify charges, record and balance all money
  • lock up beverages, food and equipment, secure cash deposits
  • answer bar phone promptly and take room service orders, input orders into register
  • perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health standards
  • follow company policies and safety procedures
  • know fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • utilize protective equipment
  • report unsafe conditions and incidents to supervisor
  • maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • assist other beverage personnel as needed
  • comply with liquor regulations on serving alcohol
  • hold valid Food Handler Card
  • operate beverage equipment
  • transport items weighing up to 30 pounds
  • engage in constant standing and walking
  • perform frequent twisting, bending, and reaching
