Job Requirements

  • prior experience in beverage service or bartending preferred
  • ability to handle cash accurately

Job Duties

  • Serve beverages and or food to guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner
  • prepare beverages for other servers to supply to guests
  • act as cashier for the lounge
  • greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document orders for drinks
  • mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
  • maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce
  • maintain stock, cut and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
  • receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges and ensure vouchers are properly executed to balance all moneys
  • lock up and store all beverages, food and other equipment
  • deposit cash drops and secure bank
  • answer bar phone within three rings and correctly and courteously take room service orders
  • input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest and personnel guests
  • perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
  • adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • follow safety and security procedures and rules
  • know department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • utilize protective equipment
  • report unsafe conditions to supervisor
  • report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to supervisor
  • provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules
  • maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance according to team member handbook standards
  • perform any related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
  • assist other beverage personnel when needed
