Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work in an environment with constantly elevated temperatures
  • Must be able to work and move quickly in a tight-space environment in a safe manner without disrupting other employees
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs
  • All employees must wear the proper uniform and maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance in accordance with company grooming standards
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years old to serve alcoholic beverages legally
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a fast-paced restaurant/bar
  • Possession of Food Handlers Card
  • ABC Service Certification

  • Must be at least 21 to meet the minimum age requirement of the State of California to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Possession of Food Handlers Card
  • ABC Service Certification
  • CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred
  • Knowledge of Teamwork and Toast POS system
  • Proficient verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage etiquette, guest relations, and service standards
  • Strong knowledge of standard drink recipes, spirits, wine, and beer
  • Understanding of classes of alcohol, different glasses, brand names, and garnishes
  • Knowledge of bar equipment and proper food handling requirements
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of daily maintenance and cleaning of venue

Job Duties

  • Maintain a positive, high, well-balanced energy level throughout the entire shift
  • Have strong interpersonal communication skills to greet guests, answer guest questions and address guest concerns in a warm, professional, and accommodating manner
  • Provide multiple guests food and beverage bar service quickly, professionally, and efficiently
  • Knowledge of and ability to accurately describe all beverage offerings and specials
  • Take accurate orders while maximizing sales using selling techniques and product knowledge
  • Quickly and efficiently prepare the highest quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to be served directly to guests or through serving staff, including proper glassware and garnish following company recipes
  • Exhibit consistently dependable, reliable, punctual, and trustworthy conduct
  • Provide exemplary guest service consistently
  • Correct and accurate execution of the POS system
  • Peel, slice, and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
  • Maintain bottles and glasses attractively and functionally to support efficient drink preparation and beverage promotion
  • Follow all proper cash handling procedures and guidelines
  • Perform all service in compliance with all ABC laws and company policies related to the service of alcoholic beverages, avoiding over-service, serving intoxicated patrons, and serving minors
  • Complete all assigned cleaning duties including stocking and organization
  • Properly set up and break down the bar before and after operating hours
