Job Requirements
- Hold a current Food Handler Card
- basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
- knowledge of all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations
- basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register and make change
- basic English language writing and comprehension skills
- sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnishes and handle glassware
- ability to operate beverage equipment
- ability to transport up to 30 lbs. continuously
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to adhere to safety regulations
- maintain a neat and clean appearance
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in a food and beverage service role advantageous
- strong communication and customer service skills
- ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- knowledge of point of sale systems
- ability to multitask and manage time efficiently
- understanding of health and safety regulations
Job Duties
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner
- promotes and documents orders for drinks
- mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
- maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis
- requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections
- responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily
- receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, ensures vouchers are properly executed to balance all moneys
- locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank
- answers bar phone within three rings and correctly and courteously takes room service orders
- inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest and personnel guests
- performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned
- adheres to company policies and procedures
- follows safety and security procedures and rules
- knows department fire prevention and emergency procedures
- utilizes protective equipment
- reports unsafe conditions to supervisor
- reports accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to supervisor
- maintains a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- performs any related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
- assists other beverage personnel when needed
