Job Requirements

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
  • knowledge of all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations
  • basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register and make change
  • basic English language writing and comprehension skills
  • sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnishes and handle glassware
  • ability to operate beverage equipment
  • ability to transport up to 30 lbs. continuously
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to adhere to safety regulations
  • maintain a neat and clean appearance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in a food and beverage service role advantageous
  • strong communication and customer service skills
  • ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • knowledge of point of sale systems
  • ability to multitask and manage time efficiently
  • understanding of health and safety regulations

Job Duties

  • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • promotes and documents orders for drinks
  • mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
  • maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis
  • requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections
  • responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily
  • receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, ensures vouchers are properly executed to balance all moneys
  • locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank
  • answers bar phone within three rings and correctly and courteously takes room service orders
  • inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest and personnel guests
  • performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned
  • adheres to company policies and procedures
  • follows safety and security procedures and rules
  • knows department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • utilizes protective equipment
  • reports unsafe conditions to supervisor
  • reports accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to supervisor
  • maintains a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • performs any related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
  • assists other beverage personnel when needed
