Job Requirements
- 21 plus years old
- reliable transportation required
- ability to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for up to four hours
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel
- frequent immersion of hands in water
- must speak clearly and listen attentively
- ability to wipe down tables and clean bar area
- ability to transport plates, glasses and baskets multiple times per shift
- ability to operate point-of-sale computerized system and bar equipment
- ability to work in fast-paced, noisy, occasionally wet and outdoor environments
Job Qualifications
- High school degree or GED preferred
- prior bar service experience
- serve safe alcohol certification a plus
- ability to read, write, basic math and verbal communication skills
- bi-lingual experience a plus
- friendly and engaging demeanor
- ability to build relationships
- ability to be a team player
- ability to follow manager instructions and guidance
- ability to communicate and behave professionally at all times
Job Duties
- Serve food and drinks to guests in a courteous and timely manner
- mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and fruit juice to prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Applebee's recipes
- interact verbally with all bar guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere
- greet guests, answer questions, make suggestions regarding food and drinks
- complete assigned opening and closing side work
- slice fruit and vegetable garnishes for beverages
- present guest checks to bar patrons, make correct change and complete credit transactions
- process employee and manager food orders
- relay food orders to kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system in a timely and accurate manner
- manage service of alcohol according to all state and federal laws and company policies
- participate in clearing and resetting the bar
- may occasionally serve guests in a Carside To-Go environment
- maintain a clean and organized work area
- explain and demonstrate usage of Tabletop Electronic Devices to guests
- drive sales with suggestive selling techniques
- participate in local store marketing to increase bar traffic and overall restaurant sales
- remove trash and garbage from bar service area to dumpster
