Job Requirements
- Must be 21 or older
- possess and maintain ANIS Food Safety Certificate and Responsible Beverage Service Alcohol Safety Certificate
- complete and maintain harassment prevention and workplace violence training
- prior experience working in a restaurant
- basic knowledge of beer and wine
- ability to stand and walk for the entire shift
- ability to lift 50 lbs
- able to manipulate fingers, hands, and arms for pouring and serving
- able to communicate clearly
- availability for night and weekend shifts
- no supervisory experience required
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a restaurant
- basic knowledge of beer and wine
- preferred prior experience as a bartender
- must be friendly and outgoing with excellent communication skills
- ability to think and act quickly under pressure
- ability to remain composed and manage stress effectively
- ability to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends
Job Duties
- Welcome each guest personally within 30 seconds
- communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone, and body language
- work as a team with all Dust Bowl personnel to maintain efficient service
- keep all areas clean and stocked to standards
- serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks following recipes
- ring drink orders and handle money transactions
- arrange bottles and glasses attractively
- wash and sterilize stemware
- offer assistance proactively
- anticipate guest needs and apply the half-full rule
- monitor guest drink counts and intoxication levels
- place bar tabs in front of guests
- ensure no guest receives more than the allowed number of drinks
- serve alcohol responsibly, arranging transportation if necessary
- learn guests' names, occupations, and favorite drinks
- perform other duties as directed
