Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in bar or hotel service roles helpful
- Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with guests
- Basic mathematical competency
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina to handle tasks
- Familiarity with cash handling and point of sale systems
- Ability to comply with legal requirements regarding alcohol service
- Flexibility to work scheduled shifts and adhere to attendance policies
Job Qualifications
- Hotel experience preferred
- Good communication skills with guests
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic drinks
- Basic math skills to operate cash register, make change, total guest checks, and manage cash drops
- Manual dexterity to use knives for garnishes, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice, and retrieve stock
- Ability to remember and promote menu items
- Ability to operate keyboard and point of sale procedures
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Adaptability in communication style
Job Duties
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis
- Requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce
- Maintains stock, cuts, and stores fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner and promotes drink orders
- Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard recipes and practices portion control
- Abides by all state, federal, and corporate requirements for serving alcoholic beverages
- Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates checks to maintain accountability
- Receives cash, makes change, verifies charges, records transactions, and balances money
- Locks and stores beverage, food, and equipment items, secures cash deposits and bank
- Complies with attendance rules and reports consistently
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
