Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in beverage service or hospitality preferred
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- physical ability to stand for extended periods
- familiarity with cash handling processes
- basic math proficiency
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- customer service oriented
- ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
Job Qualifications
- Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items/hotel services
- ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language and utilize math skills for recipes, measurements and guest check
- ability to effectively deal with internal/external customers requiring high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy
- ability to communicate with supervisor throughout the shift
- basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register and handle cash
- ability to work in confined spaces and awkward positions requiring standing, crouching, kneeling, stooping and reaching overhead
- sufficient manual dexterity to use corkscrew, knives and ice scoop
- ability to operate cash register, soda gun, liquor gun, blender, knife, corkscrew, telephone and ice scoop
- ability to remain alert and calm during emergency situations
- ability to organize/prioritize work and meet deadlines
- good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation
- ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
Job Duties
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
- promote and document orders for drinks, reciting selection of all call and premium brands as requested
- mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
- input order into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest/party
- replenish beverages as requested, frequently checking back with guest to inquire about satisfaction
- present the guest with the check promptly, thanking them and inviting them to return
- receive cash from guests, make change, verify validity and record charges to balance all monies
