Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in beverage service or hospitality preferred
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods
  • familiarity with cash handling processes
  • basic math proficiency
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • customer service oriented
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items/hotel services
  • ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language and utilize math skills for recipes, measurements and guest check
  • ability to effectively deal with internal/external customers requiring high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy
  • ability to communicate with supervisor throughout the shift
  • basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register and handle cash
  • ability to work in confined spaces and awkward positions requiring standing, crouching, kneeling, stooping and reaching overhead
  • sufficient manual dexterity to use corkscrew, knives and ice scoop
  • ability to operate cash register, soda gun, liquor gun, blender, knife, corkscrew, telephone and ice scoop
  • ability to remain alert and calm during emergency situations
  • ability to organize/prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation
  • ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • promote and document orders for drinks, reciting selection of all call and premium brands as requested
  • mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
  • input order into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest/party
  • replenish beverages as requested, frequently checking back with guest to inquire about satisfaction
  • present the guest with the check promptly, thanking them and inviting them to return
  • receive cash from guests, make change, verify validity and record charges to balance all monies
