Job Requirements

  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • One year of bartending experience
  • Alcohol beverage certification
  • Food safety certification
  • Of legal age to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in hot and noisy environments
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently
  • Effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • One year of bartending experience
  • Knowledge of mixology including food and wine pairings
  • Ability to read and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
  • Skilled at refusing alcoholic beverage service when necessary
  • Basic knowledge of POS systems
  • Good organizational skills
  • Knowledgeable of club operations including events and hours

Job Duties

  • Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure adequate supplies are available
  • Request additional supplies as necessary and stock the bar
  • Follow set-up procedures
  • Prepare garnishes, fruits mixes and pre-mixed drinks prior to opening bar
  • Greet members and guests
  • Mix, prepare and serve drinks to members and guests and mix and prepare drinks ordered by food and beverage servers according to approved standard recipes
  • Collect checks and payments for drinks served
  • Report complaints to a manager as they occur
  • Maintain and clean bar area and equipment
  • Maintain records of liquors, beers and wine to ensure bar stock is maintained at all times
  • Clean and lock the bar area according to prescribed closing procedures
  • Ensure all food items are correctly stored, labeled, dated and rotated to prevent any health or safety hazards
  • Attend staff meetings including pre-shift line-up sessions and training as required
  • Follow all laws and club policies and procedures regarding alcoholic beverage service and inform manager if continued service is in question
  • Serve drinks to members and guests seated at lounge tables in the absence of a beverage server
  • Practice beverage and revenue control procedures continually
  • Thank members and guests and invite them to return
  • Complete other appropriate work assignments as requested by supervisor
