Job Requirements
- Must be minimum age to serve alcohol
- must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in communication with guests, suppliers, and colleagues
- must be able to lift equipment and supplies of at least 30 lbs regularly
- must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for an 8-hour shift
- must possess good communication skills both verbal and written
- must have basic computer skills and complete knowledge of POS system
- must maintain a clean and safe bar environment
- must fully understand and comply with all relevant health, safety, and labor regulations
- must observe guests for signs of intoxication and act responsibly
- must be pleasant, conscientious, and professional
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior hospitality and/or food and beverage experience preferred
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- ability to describe menu items, prices, and preparation methods
- complete knowledge of products and menu specifications
- basic computer skills including experience with POS systems
- knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
- ability to engage with guests professionally and courteously
- knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to the hospitality industry
Job Duties
- Oversees and assists the entire front of house team with all elements of service
- takes ownership of the bar, knowing the names and preferences of guests and VIPs, greeting, seating, running, bussing, resetting
- describes dinner features including menu changes and daily additions
- conducts continuous training with service team regarding spirit and cocktail list and provides complete training for all new hires
- prepares alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately according to recipes and guest requests
- prepares drinks for serving staff to bring to tables
- engages with guests to take orders, answer questions, and make recommendations on cocktails, wines, and beers
- understands order details including menu changes, dietary restrictions, and food allergies
- maintains a clean and safe environment at all times in the bar
- ensures compliance with all health, safety, and labor regulations
- observes guests to identify signs of intoxication and refuse further service when appropriate
- performs supportive functions as needed
