  • open beer, liquor, and wine bottles frequently
  • move and transport filled glass racks and cases of beer, wine, or liquor when bar back is not available

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in full-service bar or equivalent
  • accurate mathematical skills
  • knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
  • thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wines and their uses
  • understanding of menu and specials
  • familiarity with wine and liquor lists and recipes for special drinks
  • knowledge of liquor liability laws
  • knowledge of accounting procedures

Job Duties

  • Arrange and set up beverages, beverage mixes, and supplies according to operating procedures
  • complete all side work when assigned
  • prepare ingredients for mixed beverage recipes
  • safely use equipment and utensils in beverage preparation
  • prepare beverages according to prescribed recipes including alcohol content
  • use proper methods to ensure exact alcohol pour measures
  • count and be responsible for cash drawer
  • operate all functions of bar service alone if necessary
  • take and fill food orders from guests at the bar
  • communicate clearly and cordially with coworkers and guests
  • accurately record and account for all served items
  • maintain security of bar stock inventory
  • assist host staff with telephone duties
