- open beer, liquor, and wine bottles frequently
- move and transport filled glass racks and cases of beer, wine, or liquor when bar back is not available
Job Qualifications
- Two years of experience in full-service bar or equivalent
- accurate mathematical skills
- knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
- thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wines and their uses
- understanding of menu and specials
- familiarity with wine and liquor lists and recipes for special drinks
- knowledge of liquor liability laws
- knowledge of accounting procedures
Job Duties
- Arrange and set up beverages, beverage mixes, and supplies according to operating procedures
- complete all side work when assigned
- prepare ingredients for mixed beverage recipes
- safely use equipment and utensils in beverage preparation
- prepare beverages according to prescribed recipes including alcohol content
- use proper methods to ensure exact alcohol pour measures
- count and be responsible for cash drawer
- operate all functions of bar service alone if necessary
- take and fill food orders from guests at the bar
- communicate clearly and cordially with coworkers and guests
- accurately record and account for all served items
- maintain security of bar stock inventory
- assist host staff with telephone duties
