Job Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Five years' experience as a bartender in a restaurant with similar volume and craft/classic cocktail program
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current California Food Handler's Card
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Basic math skills for calculations
  • Ability to follow company standards and guidelines
  • Ability to maintain knowledgeable and professional demeanor at all times

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum five years' experience as a restaurant bartender in a similar volume environment with a craft/classic cocktail program
  • High school graduate with some college education preferred
  • Current California Food Handler's Card
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
  • Knowledge of bartender steps of service and restaurant standards
  • Proven ability to contribute in a team service environment

Job Duties

  • Complete opening duties as assigned
  • Take guests' food and beverage orders utilizing suggestive selling techniques
  • Input orders into point-of-sale system and document orders clearly when system is inoperative
  • Make and serve alcoholic beverage items at bar and to guests and servers
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station and service areas
  • Open wine and champagne bottles for guests
  • Make all varieties of coffee per restaurant standards
  • Serve all food courses and non-alcoholic beverage items to guests
  • Acknowledge all guests, anticipate needs, and respond promptly
  • Interact courteously and professionally with guests, management and co-workers
  • Ensure proper bar-top maintenance throughout the meal
  • Wash and stock all bar glassware throughout the shift
  • Present guest checks and process payments adhering to cash handling policies
  • Clean and wipe down bar after guest departure
  • Collect and report tips at end of shift
  • Complete closing duties as assigned including bartender checkout and closing reports
