Job Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
Ability to read signs and follow simple oral and written instructions
Excellent customer service skills
Must be able to pass a background check including credit history
Must be able to obtain ABO Card and LATC Permit
Non-slip shoes required
Able to work long and irregular hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Reliable transportation and ability to report to work as scheduled
Maintain a client service oriented attitude

Job Qualifications

At least one-year experience as a bartender in restaurants with banquet facilities, convention centers, or arenas
Experience with upscale dining or similar facility preferred
High school diploma or GED preferred
1-2 years experience as a bartender in a high-volume restaurant, theatre, or banquet facility preferred
Good oral communication skills
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Excellent hospitality and customer service skills
Knowledge of popular mixed drink recipes and preparation methods
Mature judgment and professionalism
Ability to understand directives and utilize basic mathematical skills
Ability to operate a cash register and credit card machine

Job Duties

Provide total guest satisfaction through skilled and capable service in accordance with Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditorium standards
Mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons following standard recipes
Serve wine and draught or bottled beer
Collect money for drinks served
Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays
Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
Maintain cleanliness of bar area
Pay attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service
Interact constantly with customers in a fast-paced environment
Verify inventory counts and check bar supplies to ensure stock and setup
Take orders and serve snacks and drinks
Check identification to verify age requirements for alcohol purchase
Input sales using POS system, accept payment, and calculate change accurately
Monitor orders and restock bar inventory to keep operations flowing smoothly
Maintain inventory sheets and related paperwork
Balance cash receipts at the conclusion of events
Comply with all inventory control measures
Break down bar and store supplies at the end of functions
Maintain a professional appearance at all times
Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area following sanitation standards
Maintain professional relationships with coworkers
Perform duties in accordance with Louisiana State Alcohol standards, regulations, and company policies
Follow direction of Captain and management at all times
Perform other duties as assigned
