Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in beverage service or related hospitality role preferred
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to lift and transport items up to 30 pounds
- good communication skills
- must be able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
- ability to follow safety and security procedures
- customer-service oriented
- basic mathematical ability
- current food handler card
- knowledge of liquor laws and responsible alcohol service
Job Qualifications
- hold a current food handler card
- basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
- knowledge of all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
- basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops and total other charges
- basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions and vouchers
- sufficient manual dexterity in hands to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks and reach overhead to retrieve stock
- basic knowledge of English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions
- ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee maker
- ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
- ability to remember, recite and promote variety of menu items
Job Duties
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks
- mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
- maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking all necessary items
- responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily
- receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records charges, ensures vouchers are properly executed, and balances all moneys
- locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank
- answers bar phone within three rings, takes room service orders courteously, inputs orders into register and creates checks
- performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
- adheres to all company policies and procedures and follows safety and security procedures and rules
- reports unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries or property damage to supervisor
- maintains a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
- performs any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager
- assists other beverage personnel when needed
