Job Requirements
- Must have 2 years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
- Must have accurate mathematic skills
- Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
- Must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use
- Must be willing and able to meet personal schedule requirements punctually
- Must be courteous, pleasant and good natured
- Must be able to communicate with and understand the average guest
- Must provide a persona compatible with established image of restaurant
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time while on duty
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to accurately work with and account for large sums of money
- Must be able to open beer, liquor and wine bottles frequently
- Must be physically able to move and transport filled glass rack
- Must be physically able to move cases of beer, wine or liquor when bar back is not available
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a full service bar or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience in alcoholic beverage preparation
- Thorough understanding of types of liquors and wines and their distinctions
- Familiarity with menu, specials, wine list, liquor list, and drink recipes
- Knowledge of liquor liability laws and accounting procedures
- Strong mathematical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Capability to accurately handle and account for cash
- Physically able to move and transport filled glass racks and cases of beer, wine, or liquor when bar back is unavailable
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve beverages directly to customers at the bar, lounge, and dining tables
- Arrange and set up beverages, beverage mixes, and supplies professionally and efficiently
- Complete all side work assignments as scheduled
- Prepare ingredients needed for mixed beverage recipes
- Use equipment and utensils safely during beverage preparation
- Follow prescribed recipes and exact alcohol pour measures
- Manage cash drawer and accurately handle cash transactions
- Operate all bar service functions independently when necessary
- Take and fill food orders from guests seated at the bar using communication equipment
- Communicate cordially and clearly with coworkers and guests
- Accurately record and account for all items served
- Maintain security of bar stock inventory
- Provide friendly and pleasant interaction with guests
- Assist host staff by answering telephones as needed
