Job Requirements

  • Must have 2 years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
  • Must have accurate mathematic skills
  • Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
  • Must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use
  • Must be willing and able to meet personal schedule requirements punctually
  • Must be courteous, pleasant and good natured
  • Must be able to communicate with and understand the average guest
  • Must provide a persona compatible with established image of restaurant
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time while on duty
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to accurately work with and account for large sums of money
  • Must be able to open beer, liquor and wine bottles frequently
  • Must be physically able to move and transport filled glass rack
  • Must be physically able to move cases of beer, wine or liquor when bar back is not available

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a full service bar or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience in alcoholic beverage preparation
  • Thorough understanding of types of liquors and wines and their distinctions
  • Familiarity with menu, specials, wine list, liquor list, and drink recipes
  • Knowledge of liquor liability laws and accounting procedures
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Capability to accurately handle and account for cash
  • Physically able to move and transport filled glass racks and cases of beer, wine, or liquor when bar back is unavailable

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve beverages directly to customers at the bar, lounge, and dining tables
  • Arrange and set up beverages, beverage mixes, and supplies professionally and efficiently
  • Complete all side work assignments as scheduled
  • Prepare ingredients needed for mixed beverage recipes
  • Use equipment and utensils safely during beverage preparation
  • Follow prescribed recipes and exact alcohol pour measures
  • Manage cash drawer and accurately handle cash transactions
  • Operate all bar service functions independently when necessary
  • Take and fill food orders from guests seated at the bar using communication equipment
  • Communicate cordially and clearly with coworkers and guests
  • Accurately record and account for all items served
  • Maintain security of bar stock inventory
  • Provide friendly and pleasant interaction with guests
  • Assist host staff by answering telephones as needed
