Job Requirements

Must have two years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
Must have accurate mathematic skills
Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
Must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use
Must have knowledge of menu and specials
Must know wine list
Must know liquor list and recipes for special drinks
Must understand liquor liability laws
Must follow accounting procedures
Must meet personal schedule requirements punctually
Must be courteous, pleasant and good natured
Must communicate with and understand the average guest
Must provide a persona compatible with established image of restaurant
Must stand or walk for long periods while on duty
Must work nights, weekends and holidays
Must accurately work with and account for large sums of money
Must open beer, liquor and wine bottles frequently
Must move and transport filled glass rack when bar back is not available
Must move cases of beer, wine or liquor

Job Qualifications

Minimum two years of experience in a full-service bar
Knowledge and experience in alcoholic beverage preparation
Understanding of liquor types, wine, and distinctions
Familiarity with liquor liability laws
Competence in accounting procedures
Ability to communicate clearly and cordially
Pleasant and courteous demeanor
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic math skills for handling transactions

Job Duties

Prepare and serve beverages to customers seated at the bar and lounge area
Arrange and set up beverages, mixes, and supplies according to procedure
Complete all assigned side work as scheduled
Prepare beverage ingredients accurately for mixed recipes
Use bar equipment and utensils safely and efficiently
Ensure precise alcohol content and proper pour measures
Manage cash drawer and financial transactions
Operate bar service independently when needed
Take and fulfill food orders from bar guests
Communicate effectively with coworkers and guests
Maintain accurate records of all items served
Secure bar stock inventory
Interact with guests pleasantly and with good humor
Assist host staff with answering telephones
