Job Qualifications
- Must consistently be able to assess, anticipate and meet guests' needs and respond quickly
- Must clearly communicate in a professional manner with guests, vendors, coworkers and management
- Must understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when more direction or training is needed
- Must adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers without losing focus
- Must work well within a team-oriented environment
- Must be able to perform physical activities including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling of materials
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must recognize and resolve problems appropriately using good judgment, tact and initiative
- Must possess general accounting and mathematical skills along with point of sale application knowledge
- Must correctly operate POS systems, credit card machines and mixers
- Must evaluate current practices and processes and initiate improvement
- Must be able to write and speak English effectively
- Occasionally works overtime and assists with workload of others as needed
Job Duties
- Greet and interact with guests in a friendly professional manner when applicable
- Assist bartenders with all aspects of guest service
- Smile and maintain a positive attitude at all times
- Wash and sterilize glassware and other serving equipment at bars
- Prepare garnishes for drinks
- Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
- Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to bar manager
- Maintain and stock adequate supplies of bar items such as glasses, cups, napkins, drink supplies, condiments, etc.
- Stock refrigeration units with wines, beer, replace beer kegs, etc.
- Replenish ice at bar
- Empty bar trash cans
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings
- Additional tasks as assigned
