Job Requirements

Must have 2 years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
Must have accurate mathematic skills
Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
Must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use
Must know menu and specials
must know wine list
must know liquor list and recipes for special drinks
Must understand liquor liability laws and knowledge
Must understand accounting procedures
Must meet personal schedule requirements punctually
Must be courteous, pleasant and good natured
Must communicate with and understand the average guest
Must provide a persona compatible with established image of restaurant
Must stand or walk for long periods of time while on duty
Must work nights, weekends and holidays
Must accurately work with and account for large sums of money
Must frequently open beer, liquor and wine bottles
Must be physically able to move and transport filled glass rack
Must be physically able to move cases of beer, wine or liquor

Job Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years experience in a full-service bar or equivalent
Accurate mathematic skills
Knowledge and experience in alcoholic beverage preparation
Thorough knowledge of liquor types, wine, and their distinctions
Understanding of menu, specials, wine list, liquor list, and special drink recipes
Familiarity with liquor liability laws
Knowledge of accounting procedures
Ability to communicate clearly and courteously
Friendly and service-oriented demeanor
Compatibility with restaurant image
Ability to stand or walk for long periods
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to handle and account for large sums of money
Experience opening beer, liquor and wine bottles frequently
Physical ability to move filled glass racks and cases of beer, wine, or liquor when bar back is not available

Job Duties

Prepare and serve beverages to customers at the bar and lounge areas
Provide food service to guests seated at the bar
Arrange and set up beverages, mixes, and supplies efficiently
Complete all assigned side work
Prepare ingredients for mixed beverage recipes
Use equipment and utensils safely in beverage preparation
Follow prescribed recipes including accurate alcohol content
Ensure exact alcohol pour measures using proper methods
Count and manage the cash drawer responsibly
Operate all bar functions independently if necessary
Take and fill food orders from bar guests using the register system
Communicate effectively and courteously with co-workers and guests
Record and account for all items served
Maintain security and inventory of bar stock
Assist host staff with answering telephones
Perform varied duties per bar service procedures
Relate to guests pleasantly and with good humor
