Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages according to local state laws
  • possession of TIPS safe alcohol service certification
  • flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • ability to stand and move for extended periods
  • previous bartending experience helpful

Job Duties

  • Communicate effectively with guests in a friendly and service-oriented manner
  • set up bar area completely and maintain cleanliness throughout service
  • mix drinks and serve food to guests and servers
  • manage liquor, beer, and wine inventory with control and accuracy
  • attend hotel meetings and trainings to stay updated on standards and practices
  • perform opening and closing side work according to standards
  • handle guest payments including cash, credit cards, and room charges
  • prepare beverages and cocktails following recipe book, portion control, and presentation standards
  • pre-batch cocktails and store them properly
  • prepare and serve hot drinks such as coffee, tea, and espresso
  • maintain lounge areas clean and stocked
  • use POS systems for cashiering functions
  • comply with state liquor laws and practice TIPS alcohol service standards
  • assist in beverage cost control using measuring tools
  • break down and store items after service
  • maintain friendly and professional demeanor at all times
