Job Requirements
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor, and wipe down booth seats in the bar area
- Ability to transport plates, glasses, and baskets to and from the service bar and kitchen multiple times per shift
- Mobility required throughout the entire shift
- Ability to transport glass racks and cases up to 25 pounds several times per shift
- Ability to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to four hours
- Ability to balance, reach, bend, stoop, kneel and frequently lift as much as 50 pounds
- Frequent immersion of hands in water throughout shift
- Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other team members
- Ability to work in fast-paced, noisy, and sometimes wet environments
- Less than 5% travel
Job Qualifications
- Friendly and engaging demeanor
- 21+ years old
- Prior bar service experience
- ServeSafe Alcohol Certification a plus
- Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required
- Bi-lingual experience a plus
- High School Degree or GED preferred
- Ability to build relationships
- Ability to be a team player
- Ability to follow manager instructions and guidance
- Ability to communicate and behave professionally at all times
Job Duties
- Serves food and drinks to guests in a courteous and timely manner
- Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and fruit juice to prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Applebee's standards
- Interacts verbally with all bar guests creating a friendly and upbeat environment
- Greet guests, answer questions, makes suggestions regarding food, drinks, and promotions
- Completes assigned opening and closing side work as required
- Slices fruit and vegetable garnishes for drinks
- Presents guest checks to bar patrons, makes correct change and/or completes any necessary credit transactions
- Processes employee and manager food orders
- Relays food orders to kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system in a timely and accurate manner
- Manages service of alcohol according to all state and federal laws and regulations, company and brand policies
- Participates in the clearing and resetting of the bar area
- May occasionally be scheduled to serve guests in a Carside To-Go service
- Maintains a clean and organized work station
- Explains and demonstrates usage of Tabletop Electronic Devices to guests
- Drives sales with suggestive selling techniques, creating a legendary customer experience
- Participates in Local Store Marketing to drive bar traffic and overall restaurant sales
- Removes trash and garbage from bar service area to dumpster
