Job Requirements

- Ability to communicate effectively in the predominant language(s) of guests
- Ability to lift and carry very heavy cases

Job Qualifications
- 2 years' experience in a high-volume operation is preferred
- Ability to pass bar validation
- Extensive knowledge of drink recipes and in preparation of cocktails
- Ability to operate Point of Sale system to perform all necessary transactions, knowledge of Aloha POS system beneficial
- Capable of communicating effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests to respond clearly to customer requests
- Ability to read menus to sight-impaired guests
- Ability to hear well amongst loud background noise
- Ability to lift and carry very heavy cases several times per shift
- Stands during entire shift
- Frequent immersion of hands in hot water
- Frequent bending and stooping
Job Duties
- Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda etc. to prepare cocktails and other drinks according to established recipes
- Serve wine, draft beer and food to bar guests in a professional manner
- Take beverage orders from serving staff
- Collect payments (credit cards or cash) for items served following company's established accounting procedures for all transactions
- Balance register at the end of each shift
- Observe guests and respond to their needs to ensure positive hospitality experience
- Respond calmly to angry guests and inform manager immediately
- Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
- Guide guests in selecting food and beverage items
- Promote cocktail hours, special events, etc. to increase sales
- Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication of guests
- Follow alcohol awareness procedures for handling intoxicated guests
- Prepare drinks according to company recipes and standards, verify correct pricing
- Possess proficient knowledge of liquor quality and preparation of an extensive variety of different drinks
- Maintain professional knowledge on new and revised beverage recipes
- Assist servers in bar knowledge (proper glassware, correct garnish, etc.)
- Clean and sanitize workplace according to company procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays
- Restock bar par levels following company procedures and completing requisitions in a timely manner
- Store bar items according to established company procedures
- Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action which may be taken
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees and vendors to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate, which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness
- Always provide a favorable image of the company to promote its aims and objectives, and to foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all its areas of endeavor
- Dress neatly and well-groomed in company approved uniform at all times
