Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in hotel or a related field preferred
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently or constantly
  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with employees and guests
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Attendance at all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • Maintain regular attendance as per scheduling needs
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Compliance with hotel standards and safety regulations
  • Problem-solving skills including anticipating, preventing and identifying problems
  • Ability to understand and apply complex information
  • Willingness to cross-train in other hotel related areas

Job Duties

  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees
  • Set up the bar according to hotel standards and ensure prompt and efficient service
  • Prepare beverages and cocktails following hotel mixing and presentation standards
  • Serve guests with all beverage requirements in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
  • Break down bar after functions, storing liquor, supplies, and equipment per standards
  • Follow all state liquor laws
  • Know hotel services and facilities
  • Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules
  • Follow prescribed procedures to serve liquor safely and handle intoxicated guests
  • Respond to guests’ problems, complaints and accidents
  • Be familiar with fire exit and extinguisher locations and how to operate them
  • Keep bar and service areas clean and tidy during service
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
