Job Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • One year prior bartending experience
  • Ability to interact with customers, the public, and co-workers
  • Ability to accurately count money and provide change
  • Schedule flexibility including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions repeatedly
  • Visual ability to measure ingredients accurately
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift at least 20 pounds repeatedly
  • Ability to handle intoxicated guests professionally
  • Ability to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke

Job Qualifications

  • Visual ability needed to accurately measure ingredients for mixing drinks
  • Must be able to handle intoxicated guests professionally
  • Ability to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke
  • Completion of specialized bartending school preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare ordered drinks with proper portions and ingredients such as wine, liquor, and related bar service for guests at assigned stations
  • Mix drinks according to prescribed recipes
  • keep the station stocked with all liquor, glasses, and accessories necessary
  • account for all beginning cash register bank, all cash, complimentary drinks, and charge receipts
  • Operate a cash register, ring up the correct amount into the register, and provide the guest or server with the correct change
  • Possess a keen sense of timing and be capable of discreetly adjusting the pace of service as necessary
  • Be resourceful with beverages, fruit, and supplies to maintain low beverage costs
  • Set up service items at the assigned bar
  • Inventory supplies at the bar at the beginning of the shift and requisition additional items as indicated by bar standards
  • Clean any spillage at the bar throughout the shift
  • Take and serve cocktail orders
  • Accept payment for cocktails as required
  • Count down register drawers and complete summaries
  • Log stock used during the shift
  • Maintain the appropriate appearance of the bar in accordance with county health and department standards
  • Ensure that all service items and stock are prepared for the shift
  • Remain attentive to the needs and requests of customers
  • Treat customers with courtesy and respect
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures
  • Always maintain appropriate grooming and wear uniform provided
  • Shifts may vary based on business needs
  • Perform any additional related duties as requested
