Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Six months to one year related experience
  • Experience with POS
  • Must pass test with Liquor Department and obtain liquor card
  • Must take and pass all training tests 90% and higher
  • Job offer contingent upon completion of background screening
  • Must be dependable, report to work as scheduled and on time
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift 11-50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, squat, reach above shoulder, and grasp items
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, moderately noisy environment

Job Duties

  • Assist in preparing the bar for service by setting up bar and bar area including preparing items such as linens, silverware, and glassware, stocking liquors, changing kegs, preparing garnishes, and preparing drink mixers
  • Greet all guests in a warm, personal and friendly manner
  • Review drink and food menus, as well as any specials with guests seated at the bar and make recommendations
  • Offer menus to guests seated at the bar and answer questions about menu items, offering descriptions and making recommendations
  • Inform guests of daily specials including pricing if not listed on the menu
  • Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
  • Monitor guests' physical condition when entering the restaurant and bar
  • monitor alcohol consumption while on the premises to ensure all HCR and county serving policies are followed
  • Take appropriate steps according to HCR policies to reduce the occurrence of alcohol related issues
  • Take guests' food and beverage orders and enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff
  • Check guests' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Prepare, garnish, and serve drinks for guests seated at the bar in an expeditious manner
  • Check with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their food and drink items, and take action to correct any problems
  • Remove dishes and glasses from the bar and take them to the kitchen for cleaning
  • Prepare and present guests' checks according to policy, ensuring any special requests are followed (such as split checks), and collect corresponding payments
  • Polish and restock all glassware as needed
  • Restock all bar items including wine, beer, condiments, etc.
  • Clean entire bar area including bar top, glass washer, etc.

  • Take garbage and recyclable items to the appropriate destination
  • Must be dependable, report to work as scheduled and on time, and follow all policies regarding scheduling and attendance
