Job Description

The 92 Force Support Squadron, Alder House, located at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, is seeking a dedicated and skilled bartender to join its team on a Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) basis. The Force Support Squadron operates as part of the U.S. Air Force’s Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) activities, providing vital support services to active-duty members, their families, and other eligible patrons. Job Requirements

  • Complete a background investigation with favorable results
  • complete a favorable pre-employment physical including lifting requirements
  • possess a Food Handlers Certificate
  • meet state and legal age requirements for sale of alcoholic beverages
  • ability to work variable schedules including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • U.S. citizenship or relevant residency requirements
  • registration for Selective Service if applicable
  • ability to provide REAL ID or authorized identity documents
  • direct deposit enrollment
  • satisfactory E-Verify employment verification
  • meet qualification and eligibility requirements
  • ability to undergo a probationary period if required

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of a wide variety of beverages and ability to combine ingredients such as liquors, soda water, sugar, bitters, and fruit to mix exotic drinks
  • ability to follow cash handling procedures
  • ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and resolve issues or seek assistance
  • experience mixing and serving drinks in a fast-paced environment
  • good customer service and communication skills
  • ability to work variable schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Operate a full service bar
  • mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages following established recipes
  • deliver drinks to bar waiters or serve directly to patrons
  • handle payments and member account charges
  • wash glasses and bar equipment
  • prepare garnishes for mixed drinks
  • help stock service bar or portable bar for catered functions
  • maintain proper operation of the bar, receipts, and inventory accountability
  • accept money, operate cash register, and make change
  • prepare documentation for cash funds accountability as required
