Job Requirements
- Must have 2 years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
- Must have accurate mathematic skills
- Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
- Must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use
- Must know menu and specials
- Must know wine list
- Must know liquor list and recipes for special drinks
- Must understand liquor liability laws and knowledge
- Must be familiar with accounting procedures
- Must meet personal schedule requirements punctually
- Must be courteous, pleasant and good natured
- Must communicate with and understand the average guest
- Must provide a persona compatible with established image of restaurant
- Must stand or walk for long periods while on duty
- Must work nights, weekends and holidays
- Must accurately work with and account for large sums of money
- Must open beer, liquor and wine bottles frequently
- Must be physically able to move and transport filled glass rack when bar back is not available
- Must be physically able to move cases of beer, wine or liquor
Job Qualifications
- Two years of experience in a full-service bar or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
- Thorough knowledge of liquors, wines, and their use
- Understanding of menu, specials, wine list, and liquor list
- Knowledge of liquor liability laws
- Familiarity with accounting procedures for bar operations
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience using computer register systems for order taking
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve beverages directly to customers at the bar and lounge area
- Provide food service to guests seated at the bar
- Arrange and set up beverages, beverage mixes, and supplies according to standing operating procedure
- Complete all side work when assigned
- Prepare ingredients for mixed beverage recipes
- Safely use equipment and utensils for beverage preparation
- Prepare beverages according to prescribed recipes including alcohol content
- Use proper methods to ensure exact alcohol pour measures
- Count and manage cash drawer
- Operate all bar functions independently if necessary
- Take and fill food orders from guests using the computer register system
- Communicate cordially and effectively with co-workers
- Communicate with guests in a friendly and service-oriented manner
- Accurately record and account for all items served
- Maintain security of bar stock inventory
- Assist host staff with answering telephones
