Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in food and beverage service preferred
- valid food handler card
- knowledge of liquor laws and regulations
- ability to manage cash transactions accurately
- good manual dexterity
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- available to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
- neat and clean appearance
- effective communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Hold a current food handler card
- knowledge of state, federal and corporate liquor regulations
- basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation
- basic mathematical skills to operate cash register and handle transactions
- basic English writing skills for requisitions and vouchers
- sufficient manual dexterity to handle garnishes, glassware and beverage equipment
- ability to understand and communicate simple English instructions
- ability to apply written product labeling instructions
- ability to promote menu items
- ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee maker
Job Duties
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
- promote and document orders for drinks
- mix, garnish and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control
- maintain proper and adequate bar setup daily including requisitioning and stocking supplies
- prepare and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes and perishables daily
- receive cash from guests, make change, verify charges, record charges and ensure proper execution of vouchers
- lock up and store beverages, food and equipment
- deposit cash and secure bank
- answer bar phone promptly and take room service orders accurately
- input orders into point-of-sale system and create checks for guests
- perform general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products
- adhere to company policies and procedures
- follow safety and security procedures and report unsafe conditions
- maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- perform related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
- assist other beverage personnel as needed
