Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in food and beverage service preferred
  • valid food handler card
  • knowledge of liquor laws and regulations
  • ability to manage cash transactions accurately
  • good manual dexterity
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • available to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • neat and clean appearance
  • effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Hold a current food handler card
  • knowledge of state, federal and corporate liquor regulations
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation
  • basic mathematical skills to operate cash register and handle transactions
  • basic English writing skills for requisitions and vouchers
  • sufficient manual dexterity to handle garnishes, glassware and beverage equipment
  • ability to understand and communicate simple English instructions
  • ability to apply written product labeling instructions
  • ability to promote menu items
  • ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee maker

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • promote and document orders for drinks
  • mix, garnish and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control
  • maintain proper and adequate bar setup daily including requisitioning and stocking supplies
  • prepare and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes and perishables daily
  • receive cash from guests, make change, verify charges, record charges and ensure proper execution of vouchers
  • lock up and store beverages, food and equipment
  • deposit cash and secure bank
  • answer bar phone promptly and take room service orders accurately
  • input orders into point-of-sale system and create checks for guests
  • perform general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products
  • adhere to company policies and procedures
  • follow safety and security procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • perform related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
  • assist other beverage personnel as needed
