Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- Hold a current Food Handler Card
- knowledge of state, federal and corporate liquor regulations
- basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and alcoholic beverage service
- basic mathematical skills for cash register operation and transactions
- basic English writing skills for requisitions and vouchers
- sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife and handle glassware and bottles
- ability to understand customer inquiries and communicate effectively in English
- ability to apply written product labeling instructions
- ability to memorize and promote menu items
- ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers
Job Duties
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
- promote and document orders for drinks
- mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and portion control
- maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking of all beverages and supplies
- stock, cut, and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes and perishables to ensure product quality
- receive cash from guests, make change, verify charges, record transactions, and balance all moneys
- lock up and store all beverages, food and equipment, deposit cash drops, and secure bank
- answer bar phone promptly and courteously take room service orders
- input orders into register and create checks for guests and personnel
- perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
- adhere to company policies, safety and security procedures
- report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, and property loss to supervisor
- maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
- assist other beverage personnel when needed
