Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in a full service bar or equivalent
  • Accurate mathematic skills
  • Knowledge of alcoholic beverage preparation
  • Knowledge of types of liquors and wines
  • Familiarity with menu and specials
  • Understanding of liquor liability laws
  • Familiarity with accounting procedures

  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays

  • Ability to open bottles frequently
  • Physical ability to move glass racks and beverage cases when bar back is unavailable

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a full service bar or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience in alcoholic beverage preparation
  • Thorough understanding of types of liquors and wines and their uses
  • Familiarity with menu, specials, wine list, liquor list, and special drink recipes
  • Knowledge of liquor liability laws
  • Basic accounting and cash handling skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical capability to stand or walk for long periods
  • Capability to lift and move glass racks and cases of beverages when required
  • Compatible personality with the restaurant's image

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve beverages to customers at the bar and lounge area
  • Serve food to guests seated at the bar
  • Arrange and set up beverages and supplies efficiently and professionally
  • Complete all assigned side work
  • Prepare ingredients needed for mixed drink recipes
  • Safely use equipment and utensils for beverage preparation
  • Ensure precise alcohol pour measures according to procedures
  • Manage cash drawer and handle money responsibly
  • Operate bar service functions independently if necessary
  • Take and fill food orders from bar guests using communication and register systems
  • Communicate cordially and effectively with co-workers
  • Provide friendly and courteous service to guests
  • Accurately record all items served
  • Maintain bar stock inventory security
  • Assist host staff with telephone duties
  • Perform varied duties to uphold bar service standards
