Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • current Food Handler Card
  • knowledge of beverage preparation and service
  • understanding of liquor laws and regulations
  • basic math skills
  • ability to handle cash transactions
  • proficiency in English for communication
  • manual dexterity
  • physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • strong customer service skills
  • ability to follow safety and security procedures
  • availability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages
  • knowledge of state, federal and corporate liquor regulations
  • basic mathematical skills for cash handling and portion control
  • basic English language writing skills for documentation
  • manual dexterity to prepare garnishes and operate beverage equipment
  • ability to understand inquiries from customers and communicate instructions
  • ability to remember and promote menu items
  • ability to apply written product labeling instructions safely

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • promote and document orders for drinks
  • mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and portion control
  • maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking supplies
  • maintain stock, cutting, and storing of fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables
  • receive cash from guests, make change, verify charges, record charges, and balance all moneys
  • lock up and store beverages, food and equipment items, deposit cash drops and secure bank
  • answer bar phone promptly and take room service orders courteously
  • input orders into register at point of sale and create checks
  • perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
  • adhere to company policies and procedures
  • follow safety and security procedures and rules
  • know fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • utilize protective equipment
  • report unsafe conditions and accidents to supervisor
  • maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
  • assist other beverage personnel when needed
