Job Duties

  • Sets up a bar with supplies and products prior to opening to ensure smooth flow of service
  • ensures correct display of products to enhance sales
  • receives and prepares drink orders using standard pours and recipes
  • rings drink orders into register, collects money and makes correct change
  • provides immediate attention to guests upon seating and enhances guest relations
  • closes down bar, secures inventory and cleans bar area
  • assists servers with serving food and beverages when necessary
  • makes guests feel welcomed and happy
  • informs guests of daily specials and chef's specialties
  • takes guests orders accurately and timely
  • places orders with kitchen and informs cooks about special instructions
  • serves beverages and meals according to standard operating procedure
  • performs quality checks to ensure guest satisfaction
  • removes soiled plates and glassware according to standards
  • suggests and serves dessert, coffee and after dinner drinks
  • verifies accuracy of prices, tips and charges on checks
  • handles cash and credit card charges following procedures
  • clears and resets tables after guests leave
  • keeps dining and bus station areas clean
  • advises supervisor of any complaints
  • performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned
  • attends pre-shift line-up
  • reviews and turns in Z report with correct cash drop and credit card slips
  • performs any job or guest related tasks assigned by supervisor
  • reports to work in neat, clean uniform and maintains good personal hygiene
  • treats all guests to ensure complete satisfaction and strives to exceed guest expectations
  • gains TIP certification within 3 months
  • checks identification to ensure legal drinking age
  • refuses service to underage guests politely
  • observes guest behavior for intoxication and offers taxi if needed
  • supports all company policies relevant to role
