Job Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education required
  • one to three years food service experience preferred
  • one year customer service experience required
  • prior experience in a supervisory capacity preferred
  • Safe Server Alcohol & Food Handlers certification required
  • ability to stand and exert mobility for up to four hours
  • able to lift up to 45 lbs
  • capable of operating cash register and POS system
  • must maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • ability to work in extreme temperatures
  • must follow company policies on safety, attendance, and grooming
  • must attend all scheduled training sessions and meetings
  • ability to work varying schedules to meet business needs
  • must be able to communicate effectively in primary workplace language
  • must comply with hotel rules and regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent education
  • one year customer service experience
  • general knowledge of food service
  • previous supervisory experience preferred
  • strong customer relations skills
  • good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • basic computer skills
  • knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS
  • ability to work independently
  • strong issue resolution and analytical skills
  • familiarity with drink preparation and health standards
  • excellent organizational and detail orientation skills
  • ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers requiring patience and diplomacy

Job Duties

  • Take customer orders
  • describe menu items and suggest products to customers
  • provide information about products and look for up-sell opportunities
  • prepare and serve hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, artisan, and specialty beverages, along with pastries and cookies
  • prepare all drinks and food items following outlet and company standards
  • educate and inform customers about differences among coffee beans, coffee preparation, and home brewing methods
  • supervise other team members to ensure F&B outlet standards and procedures are being followed
  • assist in training new hires and provide ongoing training to current employees
  • participate in department monthly, quarterly, and annual inventories
  • monitor quality of service and product
  • cooperate in menu planning and preparation
  • conduct orders of food and beverage supplies
  • stay up to date on brand requirements and outlet changes
  • ensure attendance at all mandatory meetings
  • lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and staff satisfaction results
  • maintain high energy, positive attitude, and professional appearance
  • ensure equipment is clean and in working order and report maintenance needs
  • maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
  • clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • clean tables, floors, and other service areas
  • ensure coffee supplies are always stocked
  • operate a cash register/POS system and handle payments accurately
  • follow company operational policies for safety and security
  • maintain calm demeanor during high volume periods to keep store operating to standard
  • handle all food and equipment properly
  • perform all other duties as assigned by management
