Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- high school diploma or GED or equivalent
- obtain Food Handler Permit within 15 days of hire
- able to work varied shifts including weekends
- able to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 36 lbs
- ability to perform manual and motor coordination tasks
- able to work in kitchen and restaurant environment
- able to handle customer interactions and provide hospitality service
- comply with all safety regulations
- flexibility to assist other departments in emergency situations
Job Qualifications
- At least 16 years of age
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- must obtain current Food Handler Permit within 15 days of start date
- ability to work with a large group of residents/customers
- beginner level knowledge of cash handling and cash register operation
- proven working experience in a restaurant or coffee shop preferred
- computer literacy
- awareness of cost control responsibilities
- ability to work irregular hours
- ability to speak in simple sentences
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s
- ability to perform tasting and/or smelling
- ability to follow detailed but straightforward instructions
Job Duties
- Serve guests in The Coffee Shoppe and dining area
- prepare hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, shakes or teas
- perform food preparation for guests
- describe and offer menu items suggestions to guests
- maintain the quality, stock, and rotation of products in display cases and ice cream freezer
- check temperatures of freezers, refrigerator, and display case to ensure proper functioning
- clean or sanitize utensils, equipment, work and dining areas
- perform cashier responsibilities
- work and problem solve without direct supervision
- comply with dining services tip reporting policy
- observe residents and respond to additional needs
- restock and replenish Coffee Shoppe inventory and supplies
- handle stress well and maintain good workplace conduct
- adhere to all safety regulations and requirements
