Job Requirements
- Existing food handler's certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- At least 18 years of age
- Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Capability to perform manual tasks such as reaching, gripping, and operating espresso machines
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds
- Physical capacity to bend, squat, twist, climb ladders and stairs
- Ability to taste and smell for quality control
- Effective listening and speaking skills
Job Qualifications
- Passionate about coffee, culinary items, and sustainability
- Experience or enthusiasm for working in food and beverage
- Ability to deliver inclusive and exceptional hospitality experiences
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic math and computer literacy
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to complete required training and certifications
Job Duties
- Deliver exceptional hospitality to guests, fellow teammates, and all vendors and suppliers
- Make and serve a selection of delicious beverages using multiple brewing and preparation methods
- Prepare and serve delicious food items
- Maintain knowledge of current beverage and food offerings and preparation techniques
- Participate in tastings, cuppings, and trainings to develop expertise
- Taste beverages regularly to ensure quality and uphold standards
- Create community in the cafe by sharing coffee knowledge and inspiring teammates
- Support daily cafe operations including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a welcoming environment
- Uphold health, food safety, and safety guidelines
- Promote a safe and respectful work environment
- Complete Blue Bottle Academy training and 90-day validation post-hire
- Contribute to achieving company-wide sustainability goals
