Job Requirements

Job Duties

Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated
answer questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store
gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products
adequately prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients in merchandise
check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell by dates and take appropriate action
report product ordering shipping discrepancies to the department manager
prepare and serve coffee and tea drinks that meet quality standards
produce customer orders with speed and accuracy
properly handle and maintain all equipment
respond to orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and efficient manner
describe current promotions and new products
accurately handle cash and credit card payments, following appropriate cash handling procedures with efficiently using Point of Sale iPad system
serve customers quickly and efficiently, maintaining all core values
adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
continually ensure proper temperatures in cases, coolers, and temperature logs
reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
practice preventive maintenance by thoroughly inspecting equipment and notify the appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair
demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings
serve prepared food items such as muffins, bagels, prepackaged sandwiches
prepare and pack coffee bean purchases for customers
record and accurately process purchases using the POS system
collect and process payments including cash, credit, and debit cards
ensure customer service stations are well stocked
maintain a clean and hygienic work area
display merchandise in an attractive and functional manner
complete opening and closing duties for each shift
notify management of customer or employee accidents
report all safety risks, issues, and illegal activity including robbery, theft, or fraud
