Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a barista or in a related role
- Knowledge of specialty coffee and tea preparation methods
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to handle cash and operate point-of-sale systems
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Job Qualifications
- An outgoing personality and a can-do approach to an assigned task
- High level of understanding and knowledge of coffee, espresso and tea, including preparation methods
- Background in luxury resort and hotel considered an asset
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve a selection of drip and specialty coffees from the menu while ensuring proper pouring, mixing, and blending according to established recipes and established Four Seasons standards
- Confirm guest orders including any special needs or requests using the hotel's point-of-sales system
- check completed orders with the guest's original order
- Service and take orders from guests seated at the bar area offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item's taste and preparation methods
- maintain a working knowledge of coffee and specialty drinks
- Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests
- Clean coffee machine
- Properly and accurately close guest checks
- process cash and credit card payments
- properly settle voided checks or complimentary items with manager assistance
