Job Requirements

  • Must be minimum age to serve alcohol
  • Cleanliness, organization, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand primary workplace language
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Basic computational and computer skills including POS system knowledge
  • Knowledge of table settings and service ware
  • Ability to use suggestive selling techniques
  • Must comply with service guidelines from Front Server Manual
  • Ability to work in temperature extremes and maintain physical demands of the job
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs, push and pull up to 250 lbs
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch for cleaning tasks
  • Maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per standards
  • Respond constructively to feedback from chefs and managers

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-4 years of fine dining mixology experience
  • Knowledge of service and food and beverage with at least 2 years of dining room experience
  • Extensive food and wine knowledge
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong dedication to learning and motivation to progress in fine dining
  • Excellent basic math skills and POS system operation
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and strong financial acumen
  • Impeccably groomed with good hygiene and posture
  • Responsive to constructive feedback

Job Duties

  • Understand and perform job duties to the expectations of Sorelle and the restaurant service, food, beverage, and wine manuals
  • Oversee and assist the entire front-of-house team with all elements of service
  • Take ownership of the bar, knowing the names and preferences of their guests and VIPs, greeting, seating, running, bussing, re-setting
  • Execute and facilitate service in cooperation with other baristas, sommeliers, and managers
  • Facilitate communication between FOH and BOH
  • Describe dinner features as needed, including menu changes and daily additions
  • Follow through and communicate with management team/chef on VIP procedures and special requests
  • Conduct continuous training with the service team regarding spirit and cocktail list and provide complete training for new hires
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and learn new menu items
  • Take and make beverage orders
  • Take food orders and provide setups and service for guests dining at the bar
  • Coordinate transfers with the manager/server team
  • Welcome all guests and ensure responsive, professional, and gracious service
  • Develop rapport with guests
  • Answer questions about the menu, food items, wine list, or other guest inquiries
  • Liaise with servers to ensure communication about guest needs
  • Understand orders taken by servers including menu changes, dietary restrictions, food allergies
  • Assist the chef in expediting food to the bar
  • Ensure consistent preparation and service of food and products according to standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment in all bar areas
  • Comply with all applicable health, safety, and labor regulations
