Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • must obtain Starbucks Barista Certification within 30 days of employment
  • basic cash handling experience
  • ability to work flexible hours
  • good communication skills
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • willingness to participate in training and safety meetings

Job Qualifications

  • ability to obtain Starbucks Barista Certification within 30 days of employment
  • strong customer service skills
  • basic math and cash handling skills
  • good communication skills
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • knowledge of food and beverage preparation preferred
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines

Job Duties

  • Greets customers
  • take orders
  • mix and serve hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, fruit blend drinks, considering customer specifications
  • may sell food items
  • maintain good customer relations and speedy delivery of beverages and food items
  • arrange coffee bar/cart supplies and cups/mugs to make attractive displays and maintain bar/cart area in a neat and sanitary manner
  • clean coffee machines, restaurant areas, and preparation areas
  • record all sales, collect money, operate cash register and follow all cash-handling procedures including operation of cash/credit card/electronic payment register
  • attend allergy and foodborne illness in-service training
  • participate in safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments
  • attend training programs
  • receive inventory and move/lift foodstuffs and supplies
  • comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures
  • follow established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines
  • perform other related duties as assigned or requested
