Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- high school diploma or GED
- one to three months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- previous customer service experience
- cash handling experience
- knowledge of coffee shop products and processes
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- ability to perform basic math operations with American money
- ability to understand and use 24 hour and military time
- ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple projects
- ability to comprehend policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- previous customer service and cash handling experience
- knowledge of core products and processes in a coffee shop
- must be able to read and write standard English
- must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- must be able to write simple correspondence
- ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems
- ability to understand rates applicable to time passed
- ability to plan, set priorities and manage many projects simultaneously under pressure
- ability to read and understand policies, procedures, equipment manuals, training materials and corporate communications
Job Duties
- Diagnose customer needs and recommend appropriate products or services
- greet customers with a friendly smile and communicate professionally
- actively solicit feedback to ensure customer satisfaction
- build effective working relationships with peers, team members and managers
- demonstrate sincere appreciation and actively listen to others
- make timely and effective decisions using intuition, analysis, experience and judgment
- prepare and serve hot or cold beverages such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees or teas
- clean and sanitize work areas, utensils and equipment routinely
- remove and empty trash regularly
- check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators or heating equipment
- restock supplies and inform management when running low
- operate cash register
