Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • high school diploma or GED
  • one to three months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • previous customer service experience
  • cash handling experience
  • knowledge of coffee shop products and processes
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • ability to perform basic math operations with American money
  • ability to understand and use 24 hour and military time
  • ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • ability to comprehend policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • one to three months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • previous customer service and cash handling experience
  • knowledge of core products and processes in a coffee shop
  • must be able to read and write standard English
  • must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • must be able to write simple correspondence
  • ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
  • ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems
  • ability to understand rates applicable to time passed
  • ability to plan, set priorities and manage many projects simultaneously under pressure
  • ability to read and understand policies, procedures, equipment manuals, training materials and corporate communications

Job Duties

  • Diagnose customer needs and recommend appropriate products or services
  • greet customers with a friendly smile and communicate professionally
  • actively solicit feedback to ensure customer satisfaction
  • build effective working relationships with peers, team members and managers
  • demonstrate sincere appreciation and actively listen to others
  • make timely and effective decisions using intuition, analysis, experience and judgment
  • prepare and serve hot or cold beverages such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees or teas
  • clean and sanitize work areas, utensils and equipment routinely
  • remove and empty trash regularly
  • check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators or heating equipment
  • restock supplies and inform management when running low
  • operate cash register
