physical ability to perform job tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds
ability to stand or sit for entire shifts

Job Qualifications

weekend availability required
minimum 1-year customer service experience in food, beverage and/or retail environment
previous coffee house or hotel experience preferred
previous cash handling and face-to-face customer service experience required
ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly in English with guests, management and co-workers
ability to input information accurately and efficiently into MICROS
ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor
ability to work cohesively with co-workers inside and outside the department
ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests in a fast-paced environment
must attend and complete Bongo Java Barista Certification class
must be familiar with Bongo Java products including coffee, espresso, specialty drinks and retail items
ability to move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 40 pounds without assistance
ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods
requires repetitive motion with consistent use of hands and arms

Job Duties

prepare and serve food and beverage offerings within a coffee house setting
communicate effectively with guests and associates
listen to understand and clarify concerns of co-workers and guests
maintain professionalism in all situations
work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
ensure lobby public areas remain clean by coordinating with housekeeping
assist with monthly inventory
keep workspace clean throughout shift
follow procedures for accepting credit cards and checks
maintain a cash bank
verify guest room numbers for room charges
collaborate with other departments to meet guest needs
adhere to proper food handling procedures
know and follow equipment safety procedures
comply with policies on employee and Bongo Java purchases
maintain accurate newspaper logs, receipts, and returns
prepare and serve beverages according to Bongo Java standards
seek ways to improve guest experience at Bongo Java
