Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service role preferred
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques
- Ability to operate point-of-sale systems
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to follow directions and work in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Preparing ingredients for Starbucks coffee drinks
- Ensure beverages and food are prepared and served in a timely manner
- Maintain proper flow rate of customers as prescribed by management
- Prepare beverages and pastries according to recipes and standards
- Understand cooking techniques, ingredients, and various cooking/mixing methods
- Maintain proper food safety and handling techniques per applicable food code and HACCP standards
- Follow and enforce proper safety procedures
- Conduct duties in an orderly and professional manner per Southern Foodservice code of conduct
- Follow directions and procedures assigned by supervisor
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process orders and payments accurately
- Handle cash, credit cards, and debit card transactions
- Assist with catering events as needed
- Provide good customer service when interacting with customers
- Prepare drink/food products according to daily menu recipes
- Check temperatures to ensure items are properly cooked
- Replenish food items during service
- Greet and care for customers while working service lines
- Break down service areas after meal periods
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of service lines during meal periods
- Clear and clean service lines after service
- Perform other cleaning tasks assigned by management
- Perform other duties as assigned by assistant managers or supervisors
