Job Requirements

  • One or more years of experience in food handling customer facing positions
  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency while maintaining great customer service
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical, and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED preferred
  • Two or more years of experience as a barista preferred
  • Two or more years of cash handling experience preferred
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency while maintaining great customer service

Job Duties

  • Perform the professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
  • Welcome customers, inform them about specials or new items, answer questions, and accept orders and payments in coffee shops or cafes
  • Prepare food such as sandwiches or baked goods, grind and blend coffee beans, brew coffee and tea, and serve items to customers
  • Package food and beverages for sale
  • Clean and restock work and dining areas, empty trash, push in chairs, and sanitize equipment and utensils
  • Maintain food, product, and supply quality and safety following HACCP and departmental standards
  • Take inventory and replenish items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Report safety hazards as well as equipment in need of repair
  • Assist in other areas such as dishroom, food production, cafeteria as needed
  • Perform professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned
